PRIORITY 1
Develop the infrastructure to support quality science research & practice in the Cancer Program

Scope:  Recruit staff with skills and expertise to support different types of quality projects and leverage data holdings at UHN to accelerate research & quality improvement activities

Objectives:

  • Define how we do things & what supports we need to do them
  • Develop a sustainable funding pipeline
  • Develop a web presence
  • Curate the tools need to undertake our work
PRIORITY 2
Conduct cutting edge research in quality improvement and implementation science

Scope:  Conduct high impact quality research that addresses real world issues in oncology

Objectives:

  • Define criteria for project selection and intake
  • Align staffing and steering committee membership to support our project needs
  • Develop linkages and partnerships
  • Conduct research aligned with our priorities
PRIORITY 3
Build capacity for quality improvement practice within the Cancer Program

Scope:  Develop and expand training opportunities including fellowships and short-term placements to enrich and diversify the quality-related expertise of The Princess Margaret team including all of our health professionals

Objectives:

  • Provide skill development opportunities through coaching, education and research
  • Position CQuaL to have an advisory role to ensure QI/IS are embedded into practice
  • Provide support to projects with academic potential following internal peer review process
